wont go unpunished
Poor Hurc has been locked out the past two nights. Mom finds it to be punishment for him, I see it as punishment for me. If the cat is stuck outside that means that he's out there MEOOOOOWING all night to get back inside, so I don't get any good sleep.
The reason he's being 'punished' is because he's brought in lots of little creatures the past few days. Yesterday, as we all were preparing to settle in for the night, Hurc brought in a squeaking baby mouse, which I made him catch and threw them both outside while it was in his mouth. Then I went out, made him drop the poor mousie (still alive) and brought him back in to be locked inside. Mom locked him out later when he wouldn't let us alone and that's how last night went.
Today he discovered a baby rattlesnake in a corner. Discovered being the key word, I really don't think he knows how to handle a rattlesnake without getting bit. So when he discovered it, mom assumed he was the culprit. Steppy Pappa killed the rattler while Hurc was locked into my bedroom so he wouldn't try anything stupid with the snake. Luckilly Hurc is okay, but I think he's still being punished tonight.
:( It makes me sad because I really enjoy him curling up in bed with me. Mom doesn't really understand this because she has Steppy Pappa in bed with her, while I'm sometimes accompanied by Hurc when the mood strikes him. Not that I'm going to go into a desperate frenzy to find me a man to share my bed, because they're more trouble than their worth as far as I'm concerned. So I'll have to convince mom that Hurc shouldn't be locked out even if it means I have to catch a few lizards and mice.
