i feel the love!

Hurcules has come back to me! In a sense, he never left, but he stopped sleeping in my bed at night. It made me sad for a while, and I got used to not having a mass of purring fur in my face. But last night, I had te furry ball of fluff in my face once more! Ok, maybe that doesn't sound very nice, but it's getting cold, and he generates a lot of warmth.

I dont know what kept him away for so long. I allways try to pick him up and bring him to bed with me, he never has stayed, but he did last night. And he was back again when I woke up, still is. Just sleeping there all curled up. It's sweet. Makes me not want to get out of bed. I might not have except it's halloween! I have to dress up and celebrate!

Happy Halloween!

There was a baby mouse brought in tonight by none other than M. Hurcules himself. He had it in his mouth, I got it into a towel, and set it free. No apparent bodily harm, it scattered away as soon as I opened the towel. Still. When I had it in my hand, it looked so pathetic. :(

Then I tried to get mad at my cat, and I saw him playing with a feather. That's too adorable to be mad at.

next contestant

I realized why Hurc hasn't been as affecionate as of late. It's my fault. I don't give him room to be on my lap orr purring around my ankles. Everytime he does that "crosses between my ankles" bit, I end up kicking him accidentally and he gives me this look of "why?" I feel so bad.

But now I sit down on the couch a bit more rather than infront of the computer, and he's been super affectionate. He'll crawl up into my lap, find a comfortable position, and just sleep there till I stand up. Sometimes for hours, if I'm watching a movie or reading. It's adorable. I love it. Now it doesn't seem so bad that I'm not waking up with him on my stomach.

A negative note: The other morning, I woke up earlier than expected, and kind of stumbled through the hallway like a zombie (old fashioned zombie, not the crazy dawn of the dead ones. They be freaky) And I stepped on something squishy. I don't know quite what it was, and I'm glad that I don't. All I can do is speculate that it was some sort of entrail from a rodent. Being tired helped out with the gross factor, I just cleaned it up without reacting too much. Especially since the thing I stepped on stuck to my toe. Nice image ah?

non chalant

Hurc has been acting funny lately. Usually he will curl up with me at night, nearly every night. That was how it was in Sept, anyway. I'd allways wake to find him at the foot of my bed, or on the pillow next to me. I can't understand why he isn't there anymore.

Two thoeries:
1)I've started wearing earplugs, and I can no longer hear him entering the room. Then he only stays for part of the night? That one's a bit fuzzy, doesn't make too much sense.

2)With the house not just me and him in it, maybe he doesn't feel the need to cling to me like he did last month. He'll still curl up in my lap on occasion. And two mornings ago, I woke up to find him sleeping in the arm chair across from my bed. I still feed him, and play with him, and pet him

I don't know. Perhaps he got tired of me rolling onto him and kicking him.

carnival kitty

YAY! costume time!

All this looking around at costumes and stuff, makes me think... Ignoring the fact that Hurcules would hate me forever, I want to dress him up for halloween too! Do they even make cat costumes, you ask. The answer: a resounding YES. But why bother, you ask. Well, cats and humans have a love hate relationship. They ignore us most of the time, until we feed them. We can't exactly seek revenge by not feeding them, so what we do is dress them up all cutsey, and then watch them squirm... LOL, I promise, I do love cats.
